Rambling ...

I'm an Irish Girl, A Dubliner, with the 'Gift of the Gab' ... I like to talk & to tell you things. In Celtic times news, views and comment were carried from place to place by wandering Seanachaí ~ Storytellers ~ who relied on their host's hospitality and appreciation. I will need that from you too, as I venture to share Politics, Poetry, Laughter, Love, Life & everything in-between ... from Bog to Blog!!

Leiby's Legacy ... One Year On!!

Today, Sunday 11th Tammuz,  5772, marks the First Yahrtzeit of Leiby Kletzky, ZT"L.

It is difficult to forget the Saga of last Summer, when the news of this tragic petirah became known.  Leiby’s tragic Petirah at the young age of 9 shook hundreds of thousands from communities worldwide, it seems All Yidden globally were touched by this tragedy.  In his Zchus, thousands around the world were brought closer to Hashem through Teshuva and Maasim Tovim.

If you don't know the tragic tale of this little boy it is blogged here .... Tragedy & Tears ... Thoughts for Leiby Kletzky!!

The family is expected to mark the Yahrtzeit in private, and it should be so.  The pictures above were released on his website to mark this yahrzeit.  Four weeks ago, the family held a small event for the Hakomas Matzeiva.

A matzeivah was erected at the site of his kever at the Washington Cemetery in Deans, New Jersey.  Leiby’s father, Rabbi Nachman Kletzky, accompanied by his Rav, Rabbi Binyomin Eisenberger, mara d’asra of Khal Heichal HaTefillah of Boro Park, led a group of about 25 men to the Kever, where Tehillim was said and Keil Molei Rachamim was recited.  The Matzeivah ~ with an acrostic identifying him by his name, Yehudah ben Nachman ~ describes Leiby as a “yeled nechmad vena’im yorei vetomim,” calling him a “korban tzibbur” and describing how all of Klal Yisroel was moved to tefillah and teshuvah as a result of his heartbreaking petirah.

May Leiby’s neshamah have an aliyah, and may Rav Nachman and Itta Kletzky, along with their children and family, have a nechamah.

I shall learn Torah today in his merit.  May his Memory be for a Blessing for our Broken world.
